On Thursday night, I realized I haven't heard back from the organizers about
my lecture request for PAX. The next morning, I get a response saying:
Unfortunately we weren't able to fit you in to our schedule this year, but we encourage you to ping us again for our future events, and we still hope to see you at the show!
Four hours later a mass email was also sent notifying all submissions that weren't accepted. It seems that they forgot to contact people, or just realized that they've settled their schedule. I'm bummed, but not scorned. What I should be doing is working the online presence more about the topic of video games and academia. As someone suggested to me, I should make a series of videos about it. I may do that at some point, but right now I have a lot of Fünde Razor plans to take care of.
Also on Friday, Kevin (my boss) mentioned something about me going to PAX. I'd like to go and help out at the booth again, but I won't do it on my own dime like last time. I don't regret doing that last year, but I won't do it again.
