Sam & Max* Cookies

First, I want to start off with a reminder that I'm holding back doing anything holiday gifting until after Christmas due to personal reasons [more info]. I remind this now, because I just got a really awesome gift tonight.

I'm repressing the urge to nitpick the frosting. As already stated, I'm insanely proud of myself for this. Let all the world know, I am Queen of Awesome.

The pride will die down in a few days. But in the meantime, Happy Festivus!

I bow before your awesomeness.

Best.

Cookies.

Ever.

Except for those cookies I snagged one night after closing at Mrs. Fields... But I won't go there...

Sam & Max were first a comic book in the late 80's. Then in 1993, LucasArts created a garphic adventure that always makes the (good) best 10 games of all time lists. Very good comedy writing.

In the late 90's there was a cartoon show, but short lived. Then LucasArts started making a sequel around 2004. However, they canned it because the title didn't contain the words 'Star' and 'Wars'.

They laid off the designers/developers of the project too. Most of them got together and created Telltale Games. Eventually, they were able to pick up the Sam & Max license from their original creator (Steve Purcell) and are now releasing an episodic series of games (one a month for 6 months).

PS: I highly recommend buying the season from Telltale.

You mean like my icon? ^-~

His name is Gir, and he's from Invader Zim. It was a creepy show aired by Nickelodeon.

Those are 100% pure awesome. I would feel far too guilty to eat them. Except maybe GIR, because he'd sympathise.

That GIR cookie is The Awesome. Props on the DIY cookie cutters!

Re nitpicking the frosting, piping outlines in royal icing with a very small round icing tip and filling them in with a poured frosting that sets up (2 c sifted confectioners sugar, 1/2 tsp almond extract, 1/4 c milk, food coloring) might work. I'm lazy and would just assemble the deco in tinted fondant, then lay the whole shebang over a thin coat of frosting to stick it to the cookie.
