Holy crap!

Pre-E3: GameTap Signs Sam & Max, URU Live

The Turner-owned 'all you can eat' PC game service GameTap has announced a pair of major contemporary additions to its service, revealing that TellTale's new iteration of the Sam & Max service will debut on GameTap first, and that it is resurrecting Cyan's shuttered Uru Live exclusively for the service.

Regarding Sam & Max, GameTap and developer TellTale are co-producing the already announced "Sam & Max" episodic adventure series, which will debut on the GameTap network in time for this holiday season. However, for fans who are not subscribed to GameTap, which operates on a $9.99 monthly basis, Telltale will also sell individual episodes from its Sam & Max website.

In addition, Cyan's Uru Live game and community, an extension of its seminal Myst series which originally debuted through Ubisoft in 2003, will be available to GameTap subscribers later this year as part of their monthly subscription.

According to the firms: "To keep Uru Live even more fresh and challenging, GameTap and Cyan will update the game with new episodic content on a regular basis", meaning a resurrection for the game's content, and a relatively surprise turnaround following the near shut-down of Cyan recently.

A press release of two IPs that were both canceled before they reached real distribution status are now back in action in one PR release!
