McFly Radio:ACTIVE tour 2008
Just got in from seeing McFly on their current tour. Yes, McFly. I don't care how many people think they're just another Busted, designed to entertain 13-year-old girls. See them live, listen to their new stuff, and tell me they're just another manufactured pop band. These guys have talent.
I had an amazingly comprehensive review lined up in my head whilst I was at the arena, but I'm beginning to flop now. Suffice to say, the boys were on form despite numerous complaints of colds etc. The set list was near perfect - all I could have asked for were a few older songs that weren't singles - but it was still stunning. Whilst I complained about the lack of The End at the time, I think I'm kind of glad they didn't do it. I associate it too much with Adam Monroe.
What they did play, however, was Corrupted. Followed immediately by POV. This was made of more awesome than I could shake a stick at. Corrupted makes me think of Heroes, and in particular Mylar, so very much - it was even the catalyst for a PSL RP. And POV = canon!Mylar to me.
And to top it all off? POV came with Tom/Danny tongue-touching. Just when I think I've completely gone off RPS (shoosh, J2 don't count) and bandom, I see this band again, and they go and do something like that, and I fall in love with them all over again.
Boys, I salute you.
