State of the Gina

Life is full of weird quirks, and even weirder lessons.
Field School ended about a week ago. And while i learned a lot about how to Dig a proper archeological hole, even more importantly, i learned i don't want to be an archeologist. I'd really rather work with collections and the information provided by the digs then do the actual digging. Very important disticntion, especially for those of us who really are attached to their air conitioning.
Not that field school hasn't been a wonderful experience. I don't regret it for a second. But i knew all along that i was not destined for the hills of Egypt or St. Mary's. I'm destined for a lab, or a classroom looking room. And i'm ok with that. That's something else i learned, Trust my instincts, not other peoples. Got to rememeber that one.
Something else i learned is how much more fun and interesting life is when you let things go and don't judge things rashly or even at all. Just try to like and be nice to people and it's so much easier and more pleasant. I met some lovely people this summer who just didn't like this person, this place, or whatever, cause they thought they where weird or cheesy or some other problem. Dude, just go with the flow. Not Shakespear, but then again Shakespear was no Marlow . But that is still probably the most valuable lesson I learned this Summer. It really takes entirely to much energy hating or disliking things. And you miss out on stuff by being that way.
So I have lost my point, but that may be just because it's 1:30 am And i'm tired.
So i bid you Adieu.
