Time management

I need to start allocating more of my energy and attention toward getting done with school. I've puttered around long enough. Time for the school nerd to finally resurface. It's gonna be KABOOM, and those profs aren't gonna have time to figure out WHAT hit them!

Some suggestions that I found particularly relevant to me while reading through some time management stuff:

*Study at a regular time and place. Choose a block of time during the day when I am most alert (mid-morning or evening) for studying. Do other, less concentration-intense stuff (GRA work, errands, laundry) when I am at my lowest in energy (afternoon).

*Allocate no more than 2 hours per area of study (thesis, spanish).

*Trade time - Don't steal. If something comes up and I have to give up my study time, make it up later!

*Have a regular sleep schedule. 12am-9am Sunday-Thurs. This way, the weekends when I go to bed late and sleep in, won't mess me up as much as if i had went to sleep earlier, like everyone else. Body in bed, by 12am!

*Have a definite starting time. Do the most difficult stuff first. Then keep working until goals are accomplished. That way, I know that if I focus, I can be done sooner, as opposed to knowing that I can "cheat" because I have a certain amount of time to kill, before I am free.

*Take breaks to maintain focus. Write down my irrelevant thoughts somewhere (e.g., LJ) and get back to studying!

*Ventilation! I always doze off when there's not enough fresh air in the room.

*Set daily objectives to accomplish, as well as weekly and semesterly goals.

*Don't get fixated on the details. Use my energy effectively.
