burns, bruises and possible internal bleeding: signs of a great day out
Went to see Greenday last night and it was GREAT!!!!
Run-down:
- Spent most of the day there to ensure we could get good spots considering we ended up with general admission tickets [damn the idiot box for selling out in a matter of minutes!!] and success! for we were on the barrier!! woot! >>unfortunately this also meant that Sun Over Head Caused A Huge Tan On Arm [note math pun: SOHCAHTOA] ...well more like another horrid burn
- The show overall was great! brilliant! *sigh*
- Billy Joe mooned the crowd ...he also shoved his hand down his pants and rubbed himself > somehow shocking some ppl [??? not sure why but somehow ppl didn't see that coming when he went from calling "EEEEYYYYY OOOOHHHH" to *moan as though being satisfied* ...I thought the direction would have been obvious]
- tre cool in an elaborately female hat at one point of the show
- three people from the crowd coming up on stage to play in place of the band and the 12yr old 'guitarist' got a hug from Billy Joe and got to keep the guitar [que comically shocked face of a 12yr old on every big screen] ...the 'drummer' was then told to stage dive..and did so ...the girl on bass did nothing interesting
- Billy Joe getting kids from the crowd on stage to hose the crowd off...before turning one of the boys into a human plaything and moving him around like a puppet
- Billy Joe stealing a kids hat and wearing it for a while...he then later stole someone's crutches and ran to the other side of the arena with it...the return of these objects is unknown
- covers: I fought the law; we are the champions; and another song about a girlfriend that I just cant put my finger on atm [yay for having really bad memory] done by tre cool...good stuff
- "aussie aussie aussie" ever-so-subtly becoming "oggie oggie oggie" toward the end of the night
- the living end cameos of the day: shirts, fans, greenday stories of their first tour in Australia with the living end [...so I'm slightly obsesso...]
- fireworks >always a nice touch
- a crowd of approx 40,000 chanting "GREEENNNNDAAAAAAAYYY" <<
basically it was fucking BRILLIANT!!
