it was a nice weekend.
friday: drank a big bottle of wine with m and bunny while waiting for hunter to arrive from boston. went to an unmemorable bar and got very drunk and stayed out very late. i got up to go to the bathroom, and while i was waiting in line, feeling very self-righteous and estrogen-y, this stupid looking greasy little guy in sunglasses was looking me up and down as creepily as possible, and then when the bathroom opened up he was all, LADIES FIRST. and i was like, HELL no you go. and he was like, i SAID ladies first, and i was like, no YOU. and then i looked this other poor guy that was standing there and was like, YOU go. and he was like, uuhhh no it's ok. so finally i was like, FINE!!! and slammed the door. sure showed that greasy chauvinist motherfucker.
saturday: made breakfast burritos with m and h while waiting for joey to come from jersey. went to see In Her Shoes at union square. it was the greatest, warmest/fuzziest chick flick type movie i have seen in a while. i cried from beginning to end. as joey said on his way out, "i think i just grew a vagina."
came home, and m made spanikopita and we drank whiskey and kc, bunny, suz, wes and gina came over. then we went to barcade and union pool and ran into random bard kids, played mrs pac man, danced to jackson 5 and bunny knocked a bench into an ivy-filled fountain TWICE.
sunday: wandered around williamsburg going to record and thrift stores. i got two pairs of earrings. one is silver and white and the other is turquoise roses. we ate at this place, Sea, which is actually where they filmed the opening scene in Garden State omg who knew it's actually super cheap!!!
i had monday off and graded a million papers but i still have a million more.
my kidz are still krazy. i am beginning to realize the super human amount of constant compassion and stability you have to have to be a teacher. sometimes i feel like it takes everything out of you. your heart just has to be so big all the time. or you have to be removed enough not to be affected.
it is cold and wet outside and i have miso soup and hot sake in my belly and i just took a bubble bath and now i'm going to wrap myself in a blanket and watch a movie goodnight.
