Soprano Cake
So, I'm glad I'm doing pretty well in my classes so far (except for Floriculture, since I don't know what I have).
I just hope I can keep it up for this mester and all of the AP English time. Gosh, I really want to do well. I don't want my GPA to go down, not right now when it counts more than before.
I finished the Alice books! They were quite charming and I will be reading them again. :D They were so much fun! :3
Okay, so. I read this book called The Queen's Soprano, by Carol Dines, and... I loved it. I cried, I laughed, I felt Angelica's despair in being helpless, in being betrayed. Wow. Just wow. I recommend it. :D Basically, it's about a girl living in 17th century Rome who has a great talent for singing. BUT, she can't sing because she's female and the new Pope forbids women from performing. So, she eventually ends up in Queen Christina's court, where female performers can perform safely, and becomes a court soprano. The Pope, however, tries to take the Queen's quarter and such.
There's way more involved, but that's all I'm saying.
Also, with the movie The Golden Compass coming out, I decided to read the book before I go see it. So, wish me luck! XD
