Large Decisions

I have to make a large decision by January 16th that may affect how I spend my summer and my school career.

Option #1 - Apply to University of International Studies by January 16th to go to Ballarat, Australia for the study abroad nursing program. Pros are being able to get out of the country, see how another nation's health care system functions, and possibly see The Great Barrier Reef on the Semester break. Cons are being gone from mid July to Thanksgiving. This means I will not get to attend Harmony College, not get to see Barbershopper international contest in Kentucky, I won't get to see the Michigan game my senior year, worst of all I won't get to see my friend's at all during the summer.

Option #2- Apply to the Student Nurse extern program by early March. Getting hired as a student nurse extern in possibly the perioperative area. Pros are getting advanced clinical skills and being more prepared for the real job when I get my Bachelor's. Getting paid $9.99/hour (dollar sign in front of dollar value, Brooian)! Cons are missing out on the above barbershopper functions, working 32 hours/week thusly not being able to see friends while being in Columbus, missing out on Australia and all of those barbecued shrimp.

Option #3- Don't go to Australia, hang out with "peeps" (God I can't believe I used that one), see the international contest, and go to Harmony College. Cons would be not enhancing my clinical skills and not seeing Australia.
