for a fleeting second i woke up too early
my headboard is neatly pushed up against the window
so i only have to look slightly up to see the sky
as my eyes adjusted open and i wondered what time it was
i was greeted by a peach orange zest seeping sky
in that moment it was beautiful, and that was all i needed
didn't take long for my eyes to turn cozy again
was it a dream?
