It seemed to Jess that Philip found some reason to come over and speak to her every day.
Jess could see Lester watching them through the window of his office. He always regarded Philip with some suspicion. She was beginning to see why.
"Do you like working here?" Philip patted her hand. "Young girl like you, it's quite an opportunity. I'm sure you're very grateful."
She cringed under his gaze, repressing a shudder when his hand lingered far too long over hers. He only moved away when Lester joined them.
Jess wondered just how grateful she was supposed to be.
