Wii Fit into your schedule.

I stand there, mouth agape, perched on my Wii Fit, waiting to see if what just happened actually in fact did happen. I'm glad I have a witness in the room so I turn around to face him and he looks just as surprised as I do.

"Did she just pull a you?"

When one begins their Wii Fit Training program, they get to choose between a male or female personal trainer. I of course pick the woman thinking she's going to be as bad ass, British, and built as the one on my eye toy Nike game. The Wii Fit woman is none of those things. Her voice is okay but she's barely even 3D and has no muscle definition at all or coloring for that matter. Pretty much she's only good for mirroring and counting how many reps you've done. And let's not even talk about the male because I'm afraid his grating voice will get stuck in my head again.

So this chick and I have been vying for the Jack Knife Master title for a few weeks now. Basically, I challenge her to a round of Jack Knives, an ab exercise that starts on the ground and at the first whistle you raise your legs and arms into a "V" shape then at the second whistle slowly return to the starting position. As long as I keep going she adds on 10 more Jack Knives until she or I collapse. Being that the only muscles I abuse on a daily basis are my ab muscles, she can't beat me. And she knows this. We get to sixty the last time and she gives up. Sixty. That's a lot of Jack Knives.

Today I'm ready for that next step of 70. Oh yeah. I know I'll be shaking but this bitch is going down! I choose the Jack Knife Challenge and my personal trainer pops unto the screen. I step off the board to get into my starting position until she stops me with this:

"I'm a little off today. Why don't you come back later to challenge me."

The screen goes blank for a second then brings me back to the strength exercise menu.

Come back late-wait seriously? Did my video game just tell me no? Is that even possible? Is it allowed to do this?! At first I'm shocked and then I click on the regular Jack Knife exercise and proceed to do sixty anyway. I'll show her! Doesn't want to challenge me, afraid she'll lose. You think you're off your game now, honey? Wait until next time; I'm bringing it even harder!

Though I'm still a little sore about being shut down by a pixilated fake personal trainer, I continue through my workout. Even a video game doesn't want to play with me. How sad is that?
