kficrevolution #1 Challenge Dump

Stay | 2PM: Junho / Secret: Sunhwa
Based off of prompt: "Stay, until my tears dry up. Stay, until I can't recognize myself." - Nell, Stay

Sunhwa hasn't felt like herself in a long time.

Her voice is different now (must always keep that Busan accent in check) and her face is different now (but not that much different - she hasn't done that much plastic surgery, really, just a little bit) and every single moment, she is playing herself, or at least who she is supposed to be.

Sunhwa thinks that maybe she's forgetting what she had been like before this whole entertainer thing happened. She doesn't have time to think about it, though. Every day is crammed with carefully crafted natural smiling for the camera. She has to always concentrate on putting her whole self (whoever that is for the particular occasion) into doing her job.

So Sunhwa successfully finishes one of her schedules for the day with the requisite amount of pep completely squeezed out of her and she sits, waiting to be taken to an interview and then the studio for another all-nighter of practice.

She hears from the far end of the hallway a chorus of deep, "Hello, we're 2PM!" The boys of 2PM are quiet for a split second before erupting into loud conversation as they head towards her.
"Hi, Sunhwa!" "What's up?" Taecyeon and Chansung briefly greet her and the other 2PM boys quickly say hello as they pass by.

Junho motions for the other guys to go ahead without him. "Hey, Sunhwa. What are you still doing here? Do you have a schedule?" He sits down on the ground next to her, his elbows on his knees.
"I just finished. Are you guys just starting?"
Junho nods. "Yeah, it's looking like we're going to be filming all night."
"You should sleep."
Junho turns his head to raise his eyebrows at Sunhwa. "Empty words, Sunhwa. You know as well as I do that that's not really an option."
"I know." Sunhwa answers quietly.

Junho knows something's up with Sunhwa. "What's wrong, Sunhwa?"
Sunhwa turns her head away and murmurs, "Nothing, don't worry about it. I'm just tired."

Junho studies Sunhwa for a moment. Suddenly, he says, "Hey, do you remember that one time we snuck out of the dorms during Superstar Survival to go eat what you called ‘real Busan food' and then we ended up getting lost?"
Sunhwa turns slightly back towards Junho. She realizes that, terrifyingly, she doesn't remember that at all. "No, when did that happen?"
"Oh, I don't know. Maybe a month in? But I remember how you got so mad at me when I failed at reading the map. I remember your face so vividly - you were so angry that your mouth was in this like crooked angry rectangle and you were using your Busan accent again."
Sunhwa swivels and looks directly at Junho now, putting on an offended expression. "Are you sure this happened? I still don't remember it at all!"
"Here, let me reenact it for you."
Junho gets up and puts his hands on his hips after jutting his hips to one side. In an imitation of Sunhwa's voice, he says shrilly, "Yah! Lee Junho! Can't you fucking read a map?"
Sunhwa gasps, "Junho! Don't be so loud! You can't swear in the broadcasting station!"
"Hey, I'm not done yet! That wasn't the only unladylike thing you said. You don't know how surprised I was to hear those profanities coming from a cute little innocent girl like you were back then!" Junho swings his hips out and the pitch of his voice escalates again. "Shit, Junho, I don't know how you've managed to live seventeen years of your life like this! All I wanted was to just eat some fucking seafood!" Junho swishes his hand back through his imaginary pigtails.
Junho looks so ridiculous that Sunhwa is laughing now, laughing so hard she's crying. She's starting to remember bit by bit, although it's not because Junho's acting is accurate at all. Junho grabs her hands and pulls her up. "Okay, you be me now."
Sunhwa's still genuinely tearing up from the hilarity and so she can barely sputter out whole words, "S-Sunhwa, haha, calm down. We'll - we'll find the restaurant!"
Junho dramatically puts his hand to his forehead. "Well, you better fucking find it fast and when we finally get there, you better buy me the whole fucking menu because I'm damn hungry!"

Sunhwa sits back down and although she's still holding onto Junho with one hand, her other hand is slapping her thigh because it's just so funny. She just can't stop laughing even though her stomach is starting to hurt from not being able to breathe. Tears stream down her cheeks, bringing her eyeliner and mascara down with them.
Because they're both laughing so hard, they don't really notice when Taecyeon comes and says, "Junho, we're about to start filming and Sunhwa, I think the van is here for you. And you guys should probably be quieter…and not curse…"

Junho makes a move to leave, but Sunhwa holds onto his hand tighter.
"Wait." Junho stops and turns. He always waits for Sunhwa if she asks.
"Stay with me just a little longer? Until I can collect myself again?"

Sunhwa wipes haphazardly at her cheeks and tries to calm the hiccups of giggles coming up her throat. "Whew, am I okay? Do I look like myself now?"
Junho brushes off a rogue tear near the bottom of her chin.

"Nope, you don't look a thing like yourself," Junho says honestly.
Junho squeezes Sunhwa's hand and lets go. Sunhwa is back to not being herself.

Fanmail | Beast: Hyunseung / Secret: Zinger
Based off of picture prompt

Hana never gets any mail.

That is, she gets fanmail, certainly. But Hana can't help but notice that her piles of mail are significantly smaller than Sunhwa's and Hyosung's and Jieun's great heaps of love letters. Hana's fanmail is always in a neat and tidy stack, wrapped tightly with only one length of string.

Hana has the most time out of the four girls to read her mail, since she has the least hectic schedule, so that's how she spends her time. She reads her letters once and then twice and she shuffles through the letters to read them in a different order this time. Even so, she finishes her letters all too soon and she's essentially memorized the contents of every letter.

Hana can't help but sigh a little as she puts down Letter #3 (it's the 10th letter from that fan - only one of the letters this time is from a new fan, and the rest are repeats). Hana doesn't have anywhere to go but the practice studio, since the other three girls are out on some variety shows. So Hana tucks her tiny pile of letters back into the loop of string and she gets up, trying to remind herself to be grateful that she has such dedicated fans and that it's great that she can read their letters and get to know them more personally. Hana tries to tell herself that she's got quality over quantity or some other stupid cliché like that.

She enters the building and notices Hyunseung sitting on a couch surrounded by towers of letters. Because Cube and TS seem to share many things, like these practice rooms, she's seen Hyunseung around quite a bit. She can't claim to be best friends with him or anything, but Hana's in need of some company right now and so decides to head on over.

"Hey, Hyunseung. Is this all your fan mail?" Hana makes an effort to keep the envy from seeping through the breaks between each word.
Hyunseung looks up and what Hana thinks may be a smile briefly swishes across his face. "Hi. And well, it's Beast's fan mail. I'm just sorting through it."
"Isn't that the job of some other person in Cube?"
"I volunteered myself." There's an implicit addition of I didn't have anything else to do that Hana thinks she recognizes.
"Need help?"
Hyunseung looks up at Hana, a slight expression of suspicion on his face. "…If you want to."

Hana settles herself down and the two of them begin to sort through the mail in silence. Hana finds herself mentally tallying the letters she drops into piles. Doojoon, Kikwang, Junhyung, Kikwang, Dongwoon, Yoseob, Kikwang, Doojoon, Junhyung, Kikwang, Kikwang…Hana wishes she hadn't put Kikwang's pile next to Hyunseung's because Kikwang's pile is so clearly the largest and Hyunseung's is so clearly the smallest. She wishes she could say something that would distract Hyunseung from the disparity in size of his pile to the other members' piles. But Hana can't think of anything to say, so she remains in silence.

Suddenly, they hear extremely shrill shrieking coming from the door and Hana and Hyunseung look up in alarm.
"OPPA! OPPA! COME TO THE DOOR!"

Hana raises her eyebrows good-naturedly at Hyunseung. "You should probably go just so that fan can keep from losing her voice."
Hyunseung stands and Hana sees his shoulderblades come together tightly, as if to ready himself for a fight.

Hana knows to stay back, but she can still hear extremely clearly the words of the extraordinarily loud fan.
"AHHHH!!!! OPPA!!!! OPPA, CAN YOU GIVE THIS TO DOOJOON OPPA?"

Hana can't see Hyunseung's face, but she hopes he has better control of his expression than she does. She almost wants to cry.

Hyunseung returns, gently putting the envelope in Doojoon's pile and watching as the glitter showers down onto the many other envelopes already in Doojoon's pile.

Hana reaches into her bag and pulls out a notebook. "I'll write you a letter if you write me one."
Hyunseung's concentration on composing his face is interrupted. "What?"
"I said, I'll write you a letter if you write me one. You see, I don't get much fanmail." Either, Hyunseung imagines Hana saying.
Hyunseung shrugs, pretending as if one more letter is nothing. "Alright. But I'm not decorating it with stickers and glitter or anything."
"Deal. But I reserve the right to be as fangirly as I want." Hana raises the pitch of her voice and screeches, "HYUNSEUNG OPPA, I LOVE YOU!!!"
Hyunseung doesn't even try to control it anymore and he smiles.

Hana gets out her pen and reads each word as she writes.

"I'm your biggest fan!"

Again | B.A.P.:  Bang Yonggook / Secret: Jieun
Based off of prompt of Bang Yonggook/Yang Yoseob's "I Remember" M/V

Yonggook scared her.

Even when Yonggook was smiling that huge grin of his, Jieun felt unsettled by the intensity that exuded from him. Jieun was rather timid to begin with and when he arrived and dominated, Jieun saw herself shrinking even smaller.

Most of the time, Yonggook was nice and polite to her. He had to, since she was the sunbae and he was working with her. But as they rehearsed ‘Going Crazy', she couldn't help but feel like he was the sunbae and she was under his scrutiny.

The instant the music started, his eyes would somehow deepen to an even darker glint and his fists would clench. She sat at the piano and tried to concentrate on matching the rhythm of the keys to the sound of her voice. Jieun's voice trembled, though, and she stiffened, nervous that she had screwed up.

Jieun continued singing, but the notes sounded strange and strained. She got through her part and her eyes dropped to the piano keys while Yonggook's rapping seemed to attack her on all sides. The pellets of his words burst from his mouth and he turned to her, aiming them directly at her. Jieun internally reminded herself, Focus on the music. Focus on the music.

They got to the chorus, but she was so determined to get it right that she got her entrance all wrong. Yonggook paused for a moment, and for a second, he looked like just another kid. A friend, even. He then sighed and pressed the rewind button.

"Again."

Jieun returned her thoughts to the song and she began to play the opening notes of the song, carefully and methodically.

"No."

Jieun looked up in confusion. "What?"

"You're just playing the piano. Just playing it, instead of feeling it. Don't you feel anything?"
"I - I - "
"Again."

Jieun started over and her piano playing apparently passed Yonggook's test, but then she got to her verse. She had only let out one syllable when Yonggook slammed his hand onto the piano keys.

"No. Again."

Timidly, Jieun tried playing the song again. She managed to get to the chorus this time, when Yonggook heaved a loud sigh.

This time, Jieun was done with being timid.
"What is it this time?" Jieun swiveled around the piano bench and her eyes flared with rage as they met Yonggook's. Yonggook glared right back for a second before suddenly, he shoved her back into the piano so harshly that her spine painfully struck a chord and the bench screeched a harmony on the floor. His face was so close to hers and Jieun had a mad thought that he was going to slap her. He raised his hand as if he really was going to slap her and it did reach her face, but instead, it was gripping her so hard as his lips collided with hers.

For a moment, she found her lips kissing him back of their own volition but then she regained her senses and she shoved him off of her. She tried to keep the fear and the hope down in her stomach.

"What do you think you're doing?"

Yonggook turned towards her and shrugged, as if he hadn't just done something so horrendously momentous like kissing her.

"Getting into the song. Which we should be rehearsing."

Their eyes met and maddeningly, she couldn't tell what all this was supposed to mean.

"Again."

Forevers | MBLAQ: Cheondoong / IU
Based off of picture prompt

Jieun has never ridden a train before, not a real train, and she can't help but stick her hand out to her side and brush through each successive handle to the compartments that line up ahead of her and behind her for what looks like forever.

Jieun still believes in these forevers and so she feels exhilarated from the romance of having stepped onto a train that could go anywhere (she knows it can't exactly go anywhere, but that's what she believes). Jieun pushes aside those nagging realities. She is determined to let them all fall away and she's going to just be a little girl riding the train for the first time.

Even so, she's keenly aware that she has sunglasses on inside the somewhat dim hallway for the express purpose of disguising herself. Her clothes are carefully selected to hopefully be the perfect balance of nondescript and stylish in the off-chance that she is recognized. Jieun can't ever rid herself of IU completely.

Jieun finds an empty compartment and slides open the door, relishing the way that it creaks a little. She allows herself to throw her bag haphazardly onto the seat across from her as she slumps in an unladylike manner onto her seat. She pushes one shoe off with the other and then lets the other dangle from her foot for a second before it drops. Jieun raises her legs and rests them on the other seat. With a contented sigh, Jieun looks out the window at the trees scrolling by.

"Can I sit here?"

Jieun jolts up in surprise and her feet squish the heels of her shoes as she tries to regain composure. But when she realizes it's Sanghyun, she brightens that he's here but at the same time, she feels like her freedom has been infringed upon. Sanghyun is Cheondoong. He's an idol. She's an idol.

Still, Jieun smiles and she says, "Of course."

Sanghyun settles in and gazes at her in a funny way. Jieun isn't quite sure what he's thinking, which is jarring because in the past, she had always known.

Sanghyun sticks out his hand to her and Jieun stares at it for a second, confused as to what he's doing.
"Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Sanghyun. It's a pleasure to meet you for the first time. What's your name?"

"Jieun." Jieun says with the most genuine smile she's smiled in a while. She slips her hand in his.

Sanghyun holds her hand and says, "This is my first time on a real train. I wish I could be on this train forever."

Jieun believes in these forevers.
