Claymore Episode 26 - Raw

Looks like the last episode is out on raws now!

Subs will be out tomorrow (hopefully) and then we can put a close on this anime series. It was a great show until it deviated from the manga, but at least we still have plenty of Norihiro Yagi to go around, especially when the manga resumes publication on November 2nd ( Read more... )

A sub is out, but I'm woefully at work for another 6 hours or so and then I'll have to fight with getting the torrent downloaded... If I'm lucky, I'll be able to watch it tonight, if not, tomorrow before work.

And that summary leaves me...wanting. Manga spoilers-->I mean, if they were looking to continue the series with a second season, it'd be difficult to do that (based on the summary) because Clare is separated from Miria, Helen, and Deneve. If they all split up to return to the organization, what then? Sure, they could somehow force Clare and Raki to separate which would let her continue her search for him as happens in the manga, but she'd pretty much be on her own.

*ponders*

I did find it interesting that the summary mentioned that Galatea sensed Isley but that she couldn't sense the other Claymores. Now I'm really curious to see how they'd continue this since they seem to have left the story wide open for more. My personal opinion, if they weren't going to end the series fully, they should have just left it as in the manga.

More potential spoilers--> They could have developed a full filler arc of those missing years while the claymores bury their comrades and secretly train without releasing their yoma. There's alot that could have happened up in the north and they wouldn't have been at a loss, really, for picking up later manga chapters? Of course, one can only string that out for so long considering the pacing issues it'd create compared to the first 26 episodes. Then again, if they did a 6-26 episode filler arc once a year for the next three years until the manga either ended or had enough material for another full season, than it wouldn't have been so bad. It'd keep the itnerest up and allow for more growth room.

*sigh*

I guess an otaku can't have everything ^^
