Looks like the
last episode is out on raws now! Subs will be out tomorrow (hopefully) and then we can put a close on this anime series. It was a great show until it deviated from the manga, but at least we still have plenty of Norihiro Yagi to go around, especially when the manga resumes publication on November 2nd

Secondly, the fight with Rigaldo is only one part of the larger fight in Pieta. All the Claymores are still very much so fighting for their lives. Rigaldo just steps in to take out the group leaders and ends up in a fight with Clare. In general, she does kill him, but there was a little bit more involved in the manner of how than was shown in the anime. So, basically, these last 2-3 episodes are almost complete fabrications on Madhouse's part with raki inserted scenes and Priscilla's arrival on the battle scene.
They aren't bad episodes, but I think the ending could have been better written. I'm still trying to figure out why there was a need to insert a volcano into the series. Sure, it adds dramatic effect, but was it really necessary? O.o
I have yet to actually see the last episode so I'm hoping to be pleasantly surprised with how they end it. *crosses fingers*

I should have known that. I could have reworded that to keep episodes 22 and 23 spoilers down.

Sorry! But I think both you and Lena will enjoy them. As I've said, they aren't bad episodes, but from the manga's point of view, there were some awesome scenes that got fudged to allow the arc to move in a different direction.
*shrug*
You'll have to let me know what you think of the full series once you're done! I'm sure Lena will as well ;p

That, and it adds dramatic effect. But seriously, it's a little over the top. I think it could have been just as dramatic if she'd flown to the top of a mountain and the battle took place off a precipice. Plenty of ledges for them to hop along as it is. Plus, it'd be a starker image, more hopeless and edge of your seat than the volcano. But hey! The red stands out and makes you pay attention. It just does it in the wrong way in my opinion.
