Some of your rebuttals I see the sense of, although they still rankle me. However, there are other things I just can't seem to get my head around (or accept).

~ ~ ~

On Raki protecting Clare:
I just want him to stop going on about it as if he actually thinks he can protect her.

On Raki and his sword:
That's more a personal thing for me; not a big sticking point. Some warriors would sleep with their swords beside them so that it was always with them; the difference being that they sheathed their swords first, or at least made sure they weren't going to stab themselves if they twitched during the night. Raki should have at least wrapped it up loosely again, although it probably is an animation oversight.

On betraying Irene:
None of that matters, because Clare doesn't know it. Whatever Irene felt, or decided, or resigned herself to after giving Clare her arm doesn't matter to Clare, because she's not in Irene's head. Hmm, I'd contest that only on the principle that if unanswered, it leaves the likelihood that Clare may willingly dismember a fellow Claymore if it means their body parts could aid her.

Oh, I know that, which is why I said that Clare should have told her that it was a gift, freely given, after Clare lost her own arm in a battle -- but she doesn't owe Flora any more explanation than that. There's no reason to go into any greater detail, other than Flora just simply wanting to know because she's curious.

Again, if Flora was that worried about Clare dismembering her fellow Claymores, Flora could have gone to Miria (which she threatened to do). Clare would have been immediately cleared, and possibly switched to another team if Flora was still that disturbed by it, so it confused me when Clare seemed to give in after that.

I'm wondering if the arm technically knows Irene's gone, too.I agree with you on this point. =3 That's how I interpreted Clare feeling a weird sensation in her arm just after we switched scenes from Raphaela and ( ... )
