File this into the “this actually happened” department:
A man was convicted for playing rap music in his car at an unreasonable volume. Faced with a large fine, he was offered a reduced fine if he agreed to first listen to a large amount of classical music. An interesting choice of punishment, I think. Considering how he arguably forced unwitting bystanders to listen to a type of music they were unlikely to enjoy, the punishment definitely seems to fit the crime. The guy accepted that sentence.
…and changed his mind after 15 minutes of listening. I…can not picture this. It seems remarkably disrespectful to the concept of music, incredibly closed-minded and downright stupid. I understand that hip-hop music - specifically, the modern variety that has discarded all artistry and social value in favor of discussing the importance of money and bitches - has become immensely popular, but has the status quo evolved into a complete ignorance of other, more advanced forms of music? It certainly appears that way.
