Everybody is just a stranger

I'm going to share this piece of advice that hit particularly close to home:

Never underestimate the power of "I'd like that."

When you first start out in a relationship, you get all nervous and finally work around to saying "we should hang out this weekend" and then there's this pause and he/she goes "I'd like that" and that makes you higher than a kite. It's the best thing in the world. And after a week or two, you're talking on the phone all the time, and you say "I've been thinking about you a lot," then there's this gasp and a pause, and he/she goes "I've been thinking about you, too" and that's twice as good as "I'd like that" and now you're even higher and things are better. Then after a few weeks or months, it becomes "I love you" and then that's the best thing, and after a while just saying "I love you" isn't the same... so you have to come up with creative ways and it's "say it 2 times... no, say it 3 times" and soon it just turns into "I hate you" and "we're over."
