[Deidara's blowing up a mountain.
It didn't start out that way--he had the urge to move, to go somewhere, so he'd taken a trip to Iwa. And he'd gotten as far as the mountains when he decided he needed to blow something up. And, well, the mountain was there.
He's levelled most of the trees, bombing to the point he's running low on clay, though he has a lot since--since when was the last time he really got to use it?
So he leaps back onto his bird, backflipping onto it just because he can, and starts taking chunks of rock off. He sets off a bomb that carves a crater in the side of the mountain, and then leaps off his bird to dash and leap along the boulders that fly out. When he runs out, he sets off another bomb, and another, and another, until he's finally pulled out a specialty #18 and returned to his bird.
Up and up and up to the top of the mountain, and then he drops it and watches the peak fall apart. The debris flies up and he flies down into it, against all logic, his bird doing turns and twists and loops to avoid getting torn to pieces. When he's below the debris he flies back up as it falls, through smoke and rocks, pushing himself harder to keep going.
And it's obvious he's been doing this for a while, because his cloak has been discarded somewhere and his body's covered with a sheen of sweat, and when he digs into his pouches for clay it's clear he's scraping the bottom.
But that doesn't stop him--clay birds fly through the air, finding boulders and tearing through them with crushing explosions, dozens of birds for dozens of rocks--until the rocks stop falling.
And the bird carrying Deidara dips, jerks, and crashes to the ground.
