Whoa, its been too long since I've updated! Lets recap last weekend, shall we..
It was finally time for the SAI Exec Board retreat. So exciting! After work, I set off to Nicole's house. I was proud of myself for making it there with no problems...traffic down 83 kinda sucked, though. Once we all got there, we did a few developments and then cooked some pizzas and sat around for a while. We did some more developments till we were too tired to move. On Saturday, we went downtown. It was really fun.. I had never been to the Taste, oddly enough, so I was excited. We ate lunch by the water, we even went in a while! Very cold :P We walked along Lake Shore drive till we reached Navy Pier..I went on the ferris wheel with Betsy, Brandy and Meghan. It was fun, I hadn't been on it in years. :) Afterwards, we headed to Grant Park where there was a zillion people b/c of Santana. We tried to make our way to the entrance to the Taste but failed miserably because there were lots of angry drunks. It was kinda scary.. :x We basically just walked around, walked through Millennium Park..anything we could do to kill time before the train. When we got back to Orland, we went to Olive Garden (which I might have to stay away from for a while after I stuffed my face so badly LOL) and then did our business and sat outside eating smores. It was nice. :) We all left Sunday. It was a great weekend..I was so glad I got to see everyone and I can't wait till we all go back to school again.
For the 4th, I went to BG to see Jess, Jill, Erin and Becca. Unfortunately, it rained...so we didn't get to go to the beach. :( I visited my Grandma and got stuck there because it was monsooning. Great place to be stuck, eh? LOL. When I finally got to Jess's and everyone else arrived, we went to Starbucks, then watched Stand By Me (fabulous movie) and ate at RAM. I had a yummy ranch chicken sandwich and was surprised with the mile high mud pile. I guess since we never officially celebrated my birthday, this was it. A few of the waiters and waitresses sang to me..and even though I hate being sung to in public, it was cute...so thanks guys! :) Everyone else went off to fireworks at the racetrack and I wanted to stay so badly.. grr, I hate living so far away. :(
Its been a long week at work and I'm so glad its over. Tracy was on vacation all week, so I had to stay the extra hour till my dad went home. An hour doesn't seem like alot..but if you've been there since 7, it feels like a lifetime. Luckily, today we cut out early at 3:30 :D I only have to stay till 5 for one more day and then Tracy'll be back and I can go back to leaving with her at 4. :)
