Random Stuff
New TV:
So after I got back from my trip - realizing I hadn’t spent nearly as
much money as I thought - I bought a new TV for my bedroom. I bought
a 27inch Insignia 720p flat screen. It was only $300. Not too
shabby. The TV I had in my bedroom was my brother’s bedroom TV
growing up - and it no longer played channels 20-35…it was time.
Amazing how nice of a TV you can get so inexpensively nowadays.
Granted Insignia isn’t top of the line - but it’s just for my bedroom.
Friday Night:
This past Friday Night Jolene, Matt, Amanda and I went to see a
stand-up comic at the Asheville Comedy Club in the old S&W Cafeteria
building downtown. I didn’t realize that club even existed. It’s
pretty nice - I plan on returning. There were two comedians there,
and both were actually really funny. I was laughing the whole time -
and it wasn’t because of the two drink minimum. After that Jolene
drove home and Matt, Amanda and I went to a bar to grab a few more
drinks.
Honestly though - you know how some nights you can have a lot to drink
and feel like crap the next day, other nights you can drink a lot and
wake up feeling fine. I was the latter. I drank quite a bit. I
think I had three beers and four SoCokes in a 4 hour period - I woke
up the next morning like I didn’t even drink the night before. Yay
me.
Lovely Bones:
So I soloed it to the movies yesterday afternoon to see the Lovely
Bones. It wasn’t a great film, but I liked its message - It made me
think. A young girl dies horrifically - and it’s not a film about
revenge, it’s a film about moving on. Kind of lighthearted
considering what happened. One of those movies that put me in an
introspective mood for the rest of the day.
New Dominos:
I liked the commercial so I tried the new pizza. It's super greasy, the cheese tastes better and the crust is like breadsticks now. Not bad, but the grease factor is too high - sticking with Papa Johns for delivery.
Videogames:
I’ve been replaying Kingdom Hearts 2 recently after beating Kingdom
Hearts Re:Chain of Memories last week. Kingdom Hearts 2 is good times
- and afterwards I’ll play Kingdom Hearts 358/2. I’m trying to play
more console games now. WoW has been drama central for two weeks
straight. I pretty much haven’t logged on once to play play in weeks,
I pretty much just log on for damage control. It seems to be going
better now. Let’s see how long it sticks.
Social:
With WoW and videogames in general I’m trying to move away from
playing so much. I’m going to work on being more social. More board
game nights every week, more going to movies, more just hanging out
with people. Last week I went out for a drink afterwork with
Michelle, Nessie and Leenie, I went out this past Friday to a stand up
comic. This week I’ve got a Board game night tonight, Volleyball
Wednesday and Who’s Bad on Thursday. Who’s Bad is the Michael Jackson
tribute band I saw last year that was amazing! I can’t wait to see
them again.
Also this Saturday - I don’t know if this was drunken talk or not -
but I may be going to Trophy Room with Matt.
