It is definitely lake weather out...the kind that you get on some days when the wind picks up over the mountain and streaks appear on the lake's surface and the birch and firs shake. This would be weather for a fire and for marshmallows or for a game of gin. This would be the day when you sit underneath blankets and watch the sky rumble back and forth as the clouds push up against eachother. Maybe you'd venture out, timidly till the lookout to survey the hills rolling back against the horizon and the Genesee valley, placid under the storm. But maybe you'd just stay in the cabin and have country-style lunch and play scrabble in the evening.
I definitely miss the lake right about now. Maybe I'll go this year in May, but I doubt it.
