Let's mix it up with some movie reviews.

As far as books go, I'm right in the middle of reading The Maze Runner right now, and I LOVE IT. But I'll get to that once I finish it.

For now, I figure I've seen 8 movies over the past 2 months. Let me talk about them.

Monsters University, Much Ado About Nothing, This is the End, The Heat, Pacific Rim, Despicable Me 2, R.I.P.D., Turbo )

I did see the second half of the first Kick Ass movie, but I wanted to see the whole thing, and the person I go see movies with hasn't seen it at all, so that's why we're waiting on that one. I had heard a lot of negative things about it when it first came out, and I think it's because people wanted a fun romp, and that's not what they got. But from what I saw, I liked it a lot, and I'm really looking forward to the second one, even if I'm not seeing it in the theatre.

I am NOT a Wolverine fan. At all. So I avoid the Wolverine movies. I didn't really like most of the X-Men ones except the last, First Class, and the first one was okay. But really, if I were to rewatch any of them now, it would be solely for James Marsden. ;) In fact, that was the reason I rewatched the first one recently. The next one is supposed to have time travel in it so it can have both the first class and old casts....I don't know what I think about that yet...but if Nicholas Holt or James Marsden are in it, then I'm totally seeing it. -_- I have no shame.

We are officially ditching Elysium for Percy Jackson, and I'm Netflixing the first one in to watch in a couple weeks! I remember thinking it looked pretty decent when it came out, but this second one looks very good.

I'm super looking forward to The World's End. ^_^ I don't think that comes out until mid to late August for us, though, which is fine since I don't have time to see movies again until the end of that month.

Lone Ranger-Nooo, I did not see that. It looked really dumb and pretty offensive to me, so I'm super happy to hear how poorly it's doing. I know other people that were planning on seeing it, but I don't know if they did.

I also didn't see Superman, even though I had originally planned on seeing that instead of The Heat. I think I made the right choice choosing The Heat over it if Lyndsey's opinion that it's the worst movie she's ever seen is anything to go on. :P I'm more into that stuff than her, though, so I might enjoy that one more, but I've never been a really big Superman fan, so I can wait to get that through Netflix.

Yeah, Kick-Ass certainly wasn't what I expected it to be but I thought it was a great movie. I'm hoping the sequel is just as good.

I agree, none of the X-Men movies were that great. I was actually discussing this with Jamie the other night as we were deciding whether to bother with The Wolverine or not. I thought the first two were just okay, the third wasn't great, and then the first Wolverine movie I wasn't impressed with at all. But I did really like X-Men First Class so, yeah, I'm looking forward to the sequel for that.

I love the Pegg/Frost partnership, especially the first two in their Cornetto Trilogy, so The World's End was always a must-see for me. Can't wait. :)

Hmm, I think I'll give Lone Ranger a miss too. Normally I like Johnny Depp but that movie does look dire. I'll wait until it's shown on TV - that way I can turn it off if it's shit.

Heh, I didn't see Superman either. ^_^ Everyone I know who saw it said it was terrible so I'm pretty sure I made the right decision. I can't say I'm excited about the planned Superman/Batman team-up movie either.
