Sometimes things get you down

Over the last couple of weeks I´ve been back on a diet because I´m trying to loose some weight that I´ve put on over the last year.. For the most part I think that it´s working and it looks like some of the weight is finally coming off. The diet is pretty much a low carb diet, modified from the Atkins diet. I did it once before and it worked reasonably well. The only downside is that I have quite a sweet tooth so I´m finding it very hard to stay on the diet and keep it going.

Some of the things that I can´t have are: Bread, Pasta, Carb rich vegetables, Lots of different Nuts, Pizza, many beefburgers and sausages as they often contain breadcrumbs etc... Now there are people who are trying to support me with the diet because they know that I´m really having to try hard with it..

Now don´t get me wrong.. I don´t think that other people should change the way they live "their" lives because it makes things easier for me.. but just in the same way it´s bad form to smoke infront of someone who´s trying to give up smoking, it´s just as bad form to suddenly start making foods that they know I´m very fond of and bring them into eye and nose shot and eat them infront of me. The worst part is when the place I live in ends up smelling of something that I love but can´t eat (like bread and butter pudding).

There are other things combined with this that are making me a bit upset at the moment but they´re probably best saved for a later post.

Right now I´m quite an unhappy skunk, fighting hard to stay on this stupid diet. I know that I´m doing this for me and that other people shouldn´t be penalised, but sometimes I wish they would think and be a little more sympathetic to how hard this really is.
