I know I still have to get back to answering everyone from my last post two weeks ago (hopefully I'll have some time this weekend), but I did want to pop in and do a fun recap of my outtings the last two weeks in the city. I went to some pretty good (and crappy) restaurants and Fashion Week related events. I figure I'll keep this sort of diary for ( Read more... )

I don't get into Manhattan any more so I love reading your comments on the sights and tastes of the city.

Glad to see more posts and maybe some fics in the future??

Glad my exploits are a source of entertainment. I didn't realize you're not in Manhattan. Where do you live? Outer borough or suburb, like Westchester or Yonkers?

Eh, can't count on new fics, but I am trying to get back into posting about life and pop culture stuff. One step at a time.

I live in Nassau County now, but I have lived in Brooklyn and Queens. I worked for many years in Manhattan [called THE CITY] before my MS progressed and summer heat knocked me out of commuting. I was lucky to find a job as a school librarian which allowed me resting summers.

Very sorry to hear about the MS, but you did get to move out of the city, live in a house, have lovely trees and backyard. All wonderful things. Most of us aren't meant for city life forever. I'm making the most of it for now, though.

Let the right one in really has gone the rounds over the world, hasn't it? I am kinda proud of that swedish movie. :-) But I must say, you really really should read the book. I know one can get a hold of it i in english to. There are so so many more layers in the book then there is in the movie, well worth your time says I.

But man you've been busy! Also, mice... ew! O.o

Oh, I didn't know there was a book of it. I'll have to check that out. I don't read fiction very often either, so I'm always happy to take a good rec.

Right now I'm reading "Sex at Dawn," which is a sociology book about human evolutionary history and monogamy, and "The Science of Fear" which is about exactly what it sounds like.

Well, it was a book to begin with, actually. ;-) And if you thought the movie was disgusting at times, let me tell you... That is NOTHING in comparison to the book. It is... Yeah... VERY dark here and there. VERY! But I do recommend it, because it is also brilliant. :-)
