this is a gorgeous, tight piece. the amount of story squeezed in is impressive; this result of more-plot-than-porn elevating the simplicity of the action and agreeing itself into a clean tone at pitchfork time.

i love the concept.

Even the Slayer line is sort of like menstruation. When one dies, another rises. Like the phoenix, reborn again and again. Lots of myths and tropes that play on the cyclical nature of life. Buffy's no different.

I'm going to be at work all day so I have no time to work on Faith. Hopefully I can work on it a little tonight and send you something. First few days of school are busy.

Your fics always leave me speechless. They're just so powerful, and each line you read, you think, it can't get better, but it does and then I'm speechless all over again.

Love it!!

Thanks, hun. I'm lucky to have such powerful characters in and of themselves to work with. It makes it easier tapping into that power when it's time to write about them.

I wrote this ficlet at 4am a few days ago, and I always sort of wonder if those are gonna be drivel. But it seems my brain does just fine, even if I'm not at my most aware.

A hunger just beyond reach, unable to slake his boundless thirst for her.

Intense insight and powerful language - how you cram so much into a short piece is amazing.
Thank you.

I think a 'kink' of mine is blood as revelatory device. I seem to use it in a lot of my fics now that I think about it. And where you have vamps, blood is going to mean a lot for either the person eating it or losing it. Throw on the connotations brought to bear by menstruation and you get a loaded sort of material to work with.

Sometimes it upsets me that I really can't manage to write longer, multi-chap fics. But it's not how my brain works. It thinks in self-contained stories, snippets of events and moments that shape and change characters. I guess that's just my lot =)

I noticed on your profile that you live in New York. Are you attending Herself's coffee get-together on Monday? It's open to anyone from the fandom that would like to come, and it's always cool to match a name to a face. Plus, she's got the sweetest doggie you'll ever meet.

Cant make Monday. Sounds like a great opportunity. Thank you and I hope there is a large turn out.

PS Thank you for your full comments. It gives me such pleasure to know a little of how you work out ideas to produce your stories.

It's always nice to have new friends. And snoop as much as you like. That's what LJ is here for. Hopefully you'll find some other fics of interest, which are all listed on my sidebar.

I see you commenting on only_passenger (my BFF) and snowpuppies journals all the time. It seems we have similar tastes in writers, too.

So sorry I missed this when you first posted it. I love your writing style.

I'd be more effusive in my praise, since you certainly deserve it, but am too tired to come up with appropriate verbage.

Hey, Kristen! How are you? I haven't seen much of you around lately.

No worries about the fic or the review. It's nice to know that it's being read, period. You might want to check out "How Many Blonds?" if you get the chance. It's my version of Spuffy fluff. Interestingly, it seems to be a recent fan favorite.
