I received over six separate pieces of mail in support of Meg Whitman for CA Governor. News reports say she poured over $141 million into her campaign and I'm still not impressed by photos of her as a young girl. It's not that I like Jerry Brown, it's just that I dislike Whitman more.
I live in a relatively family-friendly subsection of Los Angeles that's been trying to crack down on marijuana dispensaries. While I can appreciate they provide relief for people who are truly sick (cancer, HIV/AIDS), I just can't imagine the majority of people who recreationally smoke to be responsible with their newfound freedom to posess and grow their own stash as vaguely outlined in Prop 19. The initiative itself is badly worded, and makes no promise of bringing in more revenue for our cash-strapped state, only that it will save cops the 5 minutes it takes to write people a ticket.
