The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock by T.S. Eliot

Today we read the above mentioned poem in block... friggin love it! Its so well written... "the women come and go, talking of michaelangelo." What a wonderful day for poetry!

Journalism brought around some extreme thoughts. I called Janna, Justin's mom, to see when she might want to do an interview with me about the article I'm writing about Justin and she was all like "how about today at 1!" AHHH!!! It was 11 when I called! So I panicked... I was shaking, excited, talking fast, running into large solid objects (i.e. buildings and cars) and just making a fool of myself because I was so incredibly nervous. Only two hours to get ready for the most important interview of my life? Whoa.

So I get to Justin's house. Just driving up that driveway was eerie, knowing that he had walked and driven there so many times. I get inside and am instantly attacked by Ruby the pug dog, greeted by Janna, and my hand is shaken by John who is on the phone. The interview goes perfectly. I got some really great quotes, but even better than that, is how much compassion I walked away from that house with. And how much appreciation! Not just for Justin, but for life, other's lives, his parents, his family, absolutely everything. I left at about 2:10 and went to the bank to get cash. I deserved a treat after that, challenging myself and going through with it. I may sound like I'm gloating, but unless you are me you really will never know the feelings I had approaching that doorbell and asking the questions I did to a family that is so fresh in their grief. So I went to McDonalds.

I think I'm going to submit the beginning of my story about Justin to the Literary Arts Magazine as a short story. I hope its not too late.

My work called today, they want me to come in tomorrow at 11 for orientation which just happens to be 3 to 4 hours long and runs all the way through the planned rehearsal time Britt and I had. Speaking of rehearsal, I got the talent show entrance form... *crosses fingers* I really hope this goes ok.
