...I just realized I'm using a fan argument in the paper my supervisor asked me to write. I'm arguing that the author of a certain antique RPF's main character was totally not OOC, even though the character is famous for hating the sort of thing the story is meant to promote.

Maybe I should feel shame, but all I feel is, "hah, and now I can pretend fandom counts as research."
