Just did some reworking/updating of my weight loss goals on Spark, and taking into account my three weeks of traveling and visiting in August that I do every year, and now that my metabolism seems to have kicked back on, and I believe I can lose 2 pounds a week, I could be at my goal weight by my birthday. Talk about the best birthday present ever (and awesome motivation)!! And of course if I am all fit and fabulous by Xmas...well guess who's getting her next tattoo?? ;-) Woohoo!! Since this has become my life I felt the need to share!!
I also suppose now would be a good time to let you all know.......I'm employed!!!! I haven't started either job (yup, I have two), but should be next week. The first and regular job is back to the Rainforest Cafe. I know I really didn't want to go back there and serve when i finished my tour, but somehow getting my second job makes it seem ok since there will be times when I won't be working full time weeks. And what pray tell could make me want to go back to a job that isn't always the most gratifying??? Easy-being hired at ASU Gammage as a stagehand. WOOOOOOHOOOOOO!!!!! Gammage is a road house, meaning they host the Broadway touring shows throughout the season as well as other events. (My first likely gig next week will be the commencement ceremonies.) BUT the stagehands also work all over campus with all sorts of events that may require some setup help. So some of the gigs will be awesome "stand around to make sure the renters don't blow up the building and get paid $10/hour", and some others will be very hands on. But the lady who interviewed me said that a lot of times we can take the opportunity to get paid to learn from the Broadway tours which is PERFECT!!! I mean this job is going to give me the opportunity to build on the basic skills I got in college in a bunch of different areas (read rigging, lighting, sound, etc) and get paid while also working a job to "pay the bills" that will (hopefully) be flexible enough that I can work at ASU as much as possible. Also means I will be able to stay here for at least a year, and finally get my naturalization (US citizenship) paperwork filed. Woot! Anywho, sorry for the lack of real updates, but I spend WAY too much time on sparkpeople.com. lol. It's kind of eating my soul, but I don't really mind. I still read your posts most every day though!!
