Drabble: Mono Wind
“Ever experienced a mono wind?” Zeke had already dressed in his Yosemite Park ranger uniform. He tossed his hat from hand to hand like it was a football.
Casey was clearly bored. “Don’t go to work, come back to bed.”
“It’s a big ass wind that blows through with no warning. It rips through the woods, killing anyone who happens to be in the wrong place when the trees get knocked down. The woods are filled with their ghosts.”
“Still want to camp Halloween night.” Casey smiled. “I‘ll make you howl louder than any big ass wind.”
“I’m so there.”
