Woke up at 5.30 am again, to go on another tour.
I cannot remember EVER having enjoyed waking up at 5.30 in the morning, but there ya go - the wooden cabin in which i`m sleeping is quite open (there`s no windows, just holes with wires)and you can hear all the sounds of the jungle around you. So this morning, when sun wasn`t even up yet, lots of beautiful songbirds and a rooster were telling me to wake up :) it was totally lovely.
So, then we went on a tour again, we drove straight through the jungle which I absolutely adore, and we passed lots of indigenous villages in really the middle of nowhere.
Then we arrived to Bonampak, which are Mayan ruins. The ruins themselves are not that interesting, but there`s 3 chambers in which you can see mayan paintings, and they`re still in color (!!!) even though they date back to 600 a.c.
After that we went to a small village to take a boat for an hour to the ruins of Yaxchilan, which you can only reach by plane or boat. It was absolutely one of the most magical places I`ve seen in my life. It was really incredible.. there was this serenity and quietness over the place which is hidden far away in the jungle, but at the same time there`s all these weird sounds of animals and insects in the jungle... I saw all kinds of trees, plants, flowers, birds, insects that I`ve never seen before. Like a fluorescent yellow-with-black-stripes little bird. Or a plant with leaves shaped like a fish tail. Or some really scary HUGE flying black with red insect which totally freaked me out (I`m not that good with bugs.. ) - it was more like a small bird than a bug. And again I saw monkeys.
I totally loved it - even more than Palenque. I just had a wonderful time.

Tomorrow morning I`m still free to do something fun, before I leave for the Villahermosa airport in the Tabasco region to fly back to Mexico City.
I heard the horseback riding is not that good here so instead i`m thinking of going on this jungle tour early in the morning. I completely LOVE the jungle. What an amazing place. And somehow I`m okay with this very humid and pressuring heat - I just love strolling through this jungle hotel / little hippie village thing and just hearing nothing around me but jungle sounds, and well.. okay, i`ll stop now :)
Almost dinnertime, YAY!
the restaurant here is really AWESOME (and cheap too!).

talk to you soon!!
*hug*
