Faramir paused outside the alcove to the cave, hand on the hilt of his sword.
The soft voice of fair hobbit came to him. “You may touch me there.” Anborn’s nervous chuckle followed, which triggered Faramir’s curiosity.
“Go on…don’t be shy,” the more rustic voice of the gardener goaded. “He’s not.”
Faramir peered into the cave, and his lips parted with shock. Anborn had knelt before Frodo, whose breeches were in a rumpled mess about his ankles.
“The laces…” Anborn’s voice was hoarse as he ripped at his tunic with clumsy fingers. “I cannot…they are knotted.”
“Touch me,” Frodo said. “We’ll not fret over knots just yet.”
“Your skin,” Anborn said, his voice muffled. “So pale and smooth - untouched.”
“Hardly untouched,” Sam laughed from where he was sitting in the corner. “No, sir!”
Unable to bear his own stiffness, Faramir strode in then. He stopped at the sight of Frodo’s pale length, much larger than he would have imagined, with Anborn’s hand clasped firmly around it.
“Captain…” Anborn flushed.
“Ah…Faramir,” Frodo fluttered his eyelashes at him. “There is room for two.”
