I Can Survive Job Interviews!...Sorta

So I went to that job placement seminar last Saturday. Joint effort by the university Guidance office and the Dep O Labor n' Employment, as I learned. The speaker was an NDDU alumna who now works for the local DOLE office (and who also recently spoke at a job placement seminar at my old man's school). Man, she was funny and memorable as heck with her job interview anecdotes. Now THAT was fun learning. She was also gracious enough to leave her particulars so us graduating students can use her as a character ref for resumes (heh). But she also held a mock job interview for brave volunteers (yours truly among them). That.....was so damn nerve-racking for me, with my pseudo-phobic fear of authority figures asking me one question after another. The usual interview schtick (what position I want, starting pay, qualifications, family background, hobbies, yadda yadda). Miraculously I got my answers out and didn't clam up, much. When Ms. Montilla concluded the interview I was APPLAUDED (I was first in line). Apparently my intonation was teh sex, or something *LOL*. Four more graduating hopefuls went after me, and our compensation (more like reward) for this exercise was...a letter of recommendation from DOLE c/o Ms. Montilla, for each of us, when we already have jobs lined up. Cool.

I need to experience that more. Maybe it'll clear my doubts of the future, if I can really hack it in the World of Work. Grad Final Exams are next week and I have my clearance now. Time to start filling the blanks.
