Tube Thoughts

It occured to me that it's been a while since I talked about my thoughts about some of my various fandoms. So I thought I'd give a brief rundown about some of my thoughts about the good old idiot box at the moment, starting with:

1. Dancing With The Stars: So last night was the 2 hour premiere of season 4, and is it just me or does anyone else think that there are no talented contestants this season? It just doesn't have even one breakout star dancer this season!

2. Those snowed in episodes of One Life To Live were some of the best episodes of the year so far, and the most I've enjoyed the show since the Valentine's Day fantasy episode.

3.Passions may still have some life in it after NBC officially cancels the show this fall. According to Daniel at TV Guide.com, NBC and show execs are in talks to move the show from broadcast tv to DirectTV. A move that I'm not so sure will be a good idea for the soap, since it might have even less viewers than it has now, because the majority of television viewers in the US do not subscribe to the DirectTV service.

4.Since the baby daddy drama hit the fan on All My Children hit the fan, Adam's had some of the best lines. To Jamie-"What are you doing sniffing around my son's wife? You Martins sure like sloppy seconds!" HA! And I'm surprise at how much I'm enjoying the fall out from the revelation, since I was dreading when Adam finally found out. But those scenes with The Chandlers and Tad, when it was just their storyline for the entire episode and no one's elses was the most I've enjoyed from AMC in months!

5.So Veronica Mars may be cancelled or come back in a completely new format, where the show jumps ahead to 4 years later where Veronica's an FBI agent, and the show is more along those crime drama lines. With Kirstin Bell as the only returning cast member. Veronica with no Logan? No more LoVe drama? Sorry to say, but I'd rather the show be done with, if it goes along that route.

6. And not surprisingly that the first issue of the new Buffy season 8 comic series has completely sold out! And the publisher Dark Horse is rushing back to the printers as I type this to print new issues. I mean, it sucks that the comic isn't available at the moment, especially since I haven't got my hands on a copy yet, but to be completely sold out from every store and online retailer is such a feat, a surefire sign of success and a testament of the power of Buffy and the genius that is Joss. So glad to see that the slayer is still going strong after all these years!
