horrible day
So i got into my first accident this weekend.
Heres the story:
My dad and I went to do alittle shopping and such. Him and I were driving around in his BMW.. well after we went to see melanie at work we were coming down sandpiper, our turn is really hard to see so i always take the right wide so i can see and i dont curb my wheels. Well this time there was a huge truck sitting in the middle of the street waiting to turn left. He was not on his side at all. As we came in i was afraid i was going to hit him so i turned my wheel. As i went to stomp on the break my foot missed the break I tried to hit it with my other foot but my flip flop got stuck underneath the break and we ran into a wall.. My dad was screaming and i was frozen. I didnt know what I had done. Or how i had gotten there. It was like i was lookin in on what had happened. I dont even know how i got out of the car. As i was walking to the sidewalk i passed out. When my dad woke me up he was yelling at me to go knock on the door and tell the people that we had just ran onto there door.. I was shaking and tears were running down my face. A friend in the neighborhood came running out and grabbed me. I smashed my face into his chest and cried. Then my dad yelled at me to go run home and get my mom.. As i was running i couldnt think. When i got home my mom looked at me and then called a tow truck without saying a word. I slid on the floor and tears were streaming down my face. After she got off the phone she picked me up took me up into my room, threw some jeans at me and said change. We jumped into her car and went down the street. When we got there my dad was on the phone with the police department. As we waited for the tow truck and police i sat on the corner.. i just cried, there was nothing else i could do. As the police driver drove up he was sort of laughing. he got out and asked me some questions. After he got all of our information he wrote me a ticket for avoiding an accident by speeding up. The fact that i got a ticket made it worse Not only did i wreck a 40 thousand dollar car but i got a ticket too. My dad didnt talk to me for the rest of the night. To make matters worse the tow truck came late and he was a moron. He over priced us like no other, but there wasnt anything we could really do about it. So my court date is August 30th and i have no idea how much damage i did to the car or how much its going to cost. Yes we are insured but that doesnt say much. You never know with insurance companies.
So here is my advice.
- never wear flip flops and drive.
- dont take turns that you cant see around
- always be aware of your surroundings
