I'm so in agreement. Despite the obvious retro moves, the way everything fits together makes it sound fresh. As my partner in crime pointed out, there's enough ska influence -- and I don't meant the No Doubt kind -- in Bloc Party to give their neo-post-punk sound a character distinct from Interpol, Franz Ferdinand etc.

I think there's a strong Madness, Specials ska beat with a Sandinista/Combat Rock era Clash guitar and lyrics. I think they are really one of the best new groups to come out lately.
