Give us your opinions on:
Abortion- I'm Pro-Choice. It seems unfair to me that the government can tell a woman what she can and can not do with her own body and her own future. Pregnant rape victims would be devestated. The last thing they want is a daily reminder of such a terrifying experience. Let's be reasonable here, people. We're overpopulated already as it is, we don't want the idiots who can't figure out birth control reproducing more idiots!
Gun Control- I'm split on this issue. When I went to Washington DC, I met kids from North Dakota who argued for less gun laws because up there they only use them for hunting. I believe, however, that laws on purchase waiting periods and background checks are very necessary in states that are heavily populated and have higher crime rates - like California. So I think that it should be a state's individual decision, not a federal issue.
Decriminalization- I advocate that marijuana use by adults be decriminalized. You've all heard the same damn song and dance - it's less harmful to your health than tobacco and alcohol. It's true, plus - patients should have the option of legal medical marijuana. Some old peple say that weed has changed, and that it's much more potent now and not so harmless anymore. Whatever, if it's stronger then you don't have to smoke as much of it to get the desired effect. Some would argue that decriminalization would send the wrong sign. Does anybody remember a once-criminalized substance of the 1920's... alcohol? The Great Depression hit, and the courts decriminalized it for obvious economical reasons. Some think that changing laws is a sign of weakness, but I think that decriminalization is a sign of strength, progression, and an advance in our society.
