No, but you could convince me... maybe...paintedblue120January 27 2006, 04:50:38 UTC
+ I love Plain White T's! + Pink Lady apples are the best! + Irish Step Dancing. I have never done it but I like to watch it.
- Didn't have much to say about the topics. - Didn't get a clear picture of the type of person you are - Too much talking about clothes... Being preppy isn't only about clothes, and I'm sure you know that, but this "First off, you need to know the clothes I buy. I don't go into a store if they don't carry at least one of the following:" turned me WAY WAY WAY off. It sounded... snobby and cold. I'm not trying to be mean, but "classy" does not equal snobby. - Your three wishes were geared towards clothes. What about the happiness of your friends or family? Isn't there anything else you'd want in your life other than clothes and money? That just seems shallow to me. - Does it really matter that you live in a "preppy" town? - You just seem shallow. You could convince me tho. Maybe you're really not a shallow person, maybe you just didn't feel like putting much effort into your application. - Your grammar and spelling wasn't really that great... Maybe going back and using a spelling and grammar check would help you.
You may live in a preppy town, have money, dress like a prep, and only hang out with "the cool kids" but that doesn't make you a prep. You seem to have a shallow attitude, and I'm not sure if you know what "preppy" means. Sorry. You could try to convince me though. I'm not going to say you don't deserve to be here just off of this application. I'm not trying to be mean, I'm just not impressed... sorry.

No apologies are necassary. The point I was trying to make about living in a preppy town is that I could get a couple more people to join, not that it makes a difference to my personality.
I don't try to be snobby at all, and really I have a lot of friends regardless of how they dress or whatnot, but I do really enjoy shopping and dressing nicely.
The thing about the wishes, like I said below, is that if I could think of anything my friends or my family needed, it would be number one. Say my best friend's mother got laid off. I'd wish she could get a better job that she would enjoy more.
The thing about it seeming shallow is that it was getting a little late and I had to start a science paper, so I kinda rushed. I'd edit it to include more, but I don't know if it's allowed. If I do edit it, spelling and grammar will be the first things I correct.

Okay great. I've changed my no to a yes. I changed my mind because your handled the critique well. Instead of acting like a child and throwing an Internet temper fit, you responded like a gentleman should, which proves that you have the maturity to handle constructive criticism.

Thank you very much.
As for the topics on which you wish me to elaborate: Gay Marriage - love is love. The way I see it is that it's completely irrational to try and limit the people somene can love and even if I thought it was immoral or anything of that nature I'd still have to recognize the fact that it's completely rediculous not to let gay people wed.
Britney Spears - First off, I think she's pretty, but not gorgeous. I think her music is a little bland. Except Toxic, that's great to dance to. I also thin she made a mistake marrying Kevin Federline becuase I honestly thing he's only in it for the money and the musical oppurtunities it provided him with.
Money - it's great to have but I believe that you really need to help people less fortunate than you. At some point, you have more than you need to live even the most posh lifestyle and then it's time for one to give it away. Bill Gates is a great example. His kids only get 10 million when he dies. The rest goes to charity.
Labels - I find them generally pointless. You really don't need them to describe how someone dresses or acts. No one really uses them for that anyway, they just use them to put down people who might happen to have a very individual taste in clothes and music. If we could do away with them, they wouldn't be missed.
