Okay, got to re-read it a few more times and all of it was good but the parts about the glasses and how awkward Chase is with "You were with m--us."

But this part killed me:

"You need to leave," she says shakily.

"Bye, Gert," he replies, turning, but something stops him, and her hand's just there, bunching the back of his shirt and he thinks for the first time you can't really hurt someone that much unless there's still something there.

She's sort of looking at her arm as if she doesn't understand it, and it's thinner and stronger, yeah, but he doesn't care. He catches her wrist and she's still shaking.

AHHH, touching. She was clinging and it was there and sad and she-she-she, they can't die. They need to do this and not die and be happy. ;_____;

So I just checked out your masterlist and you have runaways fic? it's like the fandom i never knew i was missing. plus, awesome. i miss chase/gert. volume 3 made me love it even more, which shouldn't make sense because gert's not even it in but there you go.
