Thank you! I enjoy thinking them.

And words cannot describe how much I need to get my grubby paws on some Turlough. Next to Ace, he's the not-yet-watched-by-me companion I'm most looking forward to seeing in action.

FIVE KNOWS TIME-FU? Must. Watch. This. Episode. Damnit, why does my computer think this is the right moment to fail at internet? I can only watch YouTube vids on my iPod ARGHHH.
Please let it be on YouTube.

Tegan's accent confuses me. It doesn't really sound like Australian, yet the actress playing her IS Australian.

I... wanted to say more, but I've forgotten what D:

The Time-Fu only happens for about 10 seconds, but it's fairly early on in the first episode. But watching Five flipping a guy is still pretty awesome.

And don't worry, you'll remember eventually *pat pat*

I FEEL LIKE EIGHT, what with him constantly losing his memory. Speaking of which, I was downloading some Big Finish audio dramas with Eight, but now that my internet's gone wibbly, it's gonna take ages. ARGH FRUSTRATIONNN.

Where might I obtain these audio dramas? I've been meaning to check those out.

(sorry, that first response was accidentally posted from my personal LJ)

As an Australian, trust me, Tegan has an accent. And it grates.

It may be hard to detect, what with all the whining she does, but does she sound whiny when she isn't whining? Sort of nasal and annoying? Yep. That's the 'accent'.

It's also not an accent I've encountered in reality, but it may be an east coast accent. It's a big country. What's sad is, I think the actress actually is Australian, and may well be exaggerating her accent, or putting on a completely fake one, for the part.

Well, what's really sad is that that's probably the kindest thing I'll ever say about Tegan. I did not like her very much at all. She always seemed to be whining about going back home, could the Doctor please take her back home, oh she was never going to get back home, and then the Doctor 'accidentally' abandoned her on Earth in her own time, how could he?! Yyyyeah. I got the distinct impression that he didn't actually want her back in the TARDIS, in Arc of Infinity. (Not that she was ever invited in the first place!)

I haven't seen any Fifth Doctor serials earlier than this, so I can't say much about Tegan's complaining. Personally, I don't really feel one way or the other about her. I don't love her or hate her, she's just kinda...there. Although I do find it strange that, in a party of four aboard the TARDIS, she's the only one who isn't an alien genius. Why John Nathan-Turner needed to have Adric and Nyssa on board at the same time remains a mystery to me.

Well, Nyssa wasn't actually intended to be a companion at all, she was just going to be in one story (Keeper of Traken) and that was it. She was well liked enough that she was brought back as a companion, it was just unfortunate that that happened to be at the same time Tegan was introduced, and Four regenerated into Five. Made for a crowded and largely unfamiliar dynamic in the TARDIS.
