Oh crap. The way this screen is oriented, I might not be able to read the scrolling text. TO THE BBC PHOTONOVELS!
My recon has no scrolling text or linking narration whatsoever. The people responsible for it made a stunning job with editing the telesnaps in such a way that almost no text is necessary to understand it.

You can hear it Patrick...the drums...when will it stop?
I always think of Simm!Master when I watch that scene. *grins* A friend of mine has the theory that the drums represent the Doctor's second heart growing, since a line in an earlier story (can't remember which one right now) suggests that One only had one heart. Myself, I always dismissed that line as one of those inconsistencies that appear from time to time.

And there goes One's ring. But wait, how does he already have the Lucky Charms Marshmallow Suspenders on?
That's one of the reasons One was awesome - he was able to make his clothes regenerate with him! ;P

Is Two just hitting sour notes, or does he just aim for really high pitches to intermittently shut ( ... )

I actually have no idea what recon group this was (I'm pretty sure it wasn't Loose Cannon or Butterfly Effect), but it was definitely not one of the better ones I've watched. I do highly recommend the one I watched for episodes 2 and 3 which can be viewed (along with episode 1 and the beginning of episode 4) here.

The theory about the second heart is interesting, but I think I'll stick with the Gallifreyan LSD.

YOU. DO. NOT. RE-QUIRE. TEA?

I'm not sure why I'd been under the impression up until now that Terry Nation was the only person who wrote Dalek stories up until Destiny of the Daleks. But yes, Evil will be quite interesting.

Ooh, I've just watched a bit of episode 1 in that recon, and the jump cuts are in the same style as in my version. The quality of the image in this one is better, though.

I think those two David Whitaker stories are the only ones that weren't written by Nation, but don't quote me on that. Sadly, my recon of Evil is of rather poor quality, but it doesn't bother me that much because I also have the BBC audio and it works wonderfully just by listening to it - it's a story that would have worked well as a Big Finish audio, I think. Also, that novelization is one of the best I've read so far.

and Ben being sort of an idiot!
Aww, don't say that about poor Ben! He was the only one who realized why the prisoners were being taken to the ship, and he warned the others about the cabin being flooded by the tide - not to mention his awesome escape, though maybe it's better to describe that one here only after Hannah watches this story.

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA YES. THIS.

The line about "a real man" actually reminded me of this old post which reminded me that lostthehat tagged the reblog with "like a real man" "omg" "like a real man" so I was all like "MUST MAKE THAT REFERENCE HERE. NO ONE WILL GET IT BUT WHATEVS."

So yeah. Enablrs.

"I. AM. YOUR. SER-VANT." But I thought tame!Daleks didn't happen until Evil of the Daleks. Although, they were in Victory of the Daleks too.

I'd seen this bit before Victory of the Daleks, and when the preview for Victory came on, and the Dalek did it's little "I. AM. YOUR. SOL-DIER." thing, I nearly exploded on the couch with glee at the reference to this serial. Too bad I ended up not liking Victory at all aside from the tea-Dalek, but MAN, my Two-love was so intense when that Dalek spoke.

Yeah, Victory was easily my least favorite Matt Smith episode, but TEA-DALEKS.
