Weekly Update/30 Days of Who: Day 30
General News
FINALLY FINISHED READING COLD FUSION! The ending was somewhat disappoint because it was driven by SO MUCH timey-wimey stuff, and Five and Seven didn't meet up until...the penultimate chapter, I think? Still, they were excellent foils for himself, with Fivey being all "we can work this out so that everybody wins!" and Seven being all "I have a trick up my sleeve that I'm not telling me because I don't trust myself." Still haven't quite made much of Patience, but I've heard in the PDA The Infinity Doctors (which I think I'll have access to when I'm back in New York) her story (and Omega's!) gets explained in greater detail. Here, all we really got was "she's really super pretty and looks like she could be Fivey's sister and could have some special connection to him and..." Oh, and Tegan might've saved the world by punching a guy. I think.
Also, this bit made me d'aaawwww:
"Have I got this right?" Adric asked, passing the drawing pad over to the other Doctor. In the absence of anything better to do, Forrester watched the pair of them. The Doctor was more relaxed around Adric than anyone else she’d ever seen. He watched him, was interested in what he was doing. Like a grandfather playing with his grandson. But there was more to it than that. The Doctor’s eyes betrayed a sadness of some kind, some deep regret that he was leaving unvoiced. The younger Doctor had noticed it, too, Roz could tell.
I wish the whole crossing-paths-with-a-former-self-with-a-huge-tragedy-on-the-horizon thing had been explored a bit more (okay, maybe a few horizons, because for Team Fivey this takes place immediately after Castrovalva), but then again it's pretty lucky that this even happened in the first place, so I really shouldn't complain.

Upcoming Commentaries
Last week was Mara Week indeed (because I didn't get to anything else), and I started The Space Museum last night. Expect that in the next couple days. The only other thing I'll probably make it to this week is The Chase, and even that might not be finished until the weekend. Still, we'll see. I still want to check and see if my friend downstairs has The Time Meddler DVD with her so I can borrow that when I get to it (she did last year).
