I think Monarch's ego puts every other ego ever to shame. And I think it's safe to say that Adric was the official Morality Boomerang of this story. No matter how many times he erred on the side of fail, he always came back. *hugtiem*

It wouldn't surprise me if the smiling was Peter Davison getting his bearings. Actually, it makes sense in the context of the story too, since this was his first adventure since recovering from his Post-Regeneration Brain-Crazies (unless you count Cold Fusion, which takes place immediately after Castrovalva).

I was pleasantly surprised by this story too. Peter Davison prefers it if fans disregard this story, but I think it's perfectly watchable.

This is going to sound really strange, but I may have the image of Adric in the TARDIS helmet forever associated with gay sex (the recent DWM with the Matthew Waterhouse interview had a Four to Doomsday promo image of him with the helmet next to an excerpt from his memoirs where he talks about the sleeping around he did while he was working on the show. Yeah, I know it sounds pretty sketchy, but he was doing this at 18 in that really weird time when homosexual activity was illegal in Britain for people under 21, so I actually have a good degree of respect for him for Fighting The Man like that).

Adric did come back, which makes me happy. But this was to me the beginning of the end. This is where they start writing him wrong. (Which is really sad.) I want to hug him too.

I guess he mind was still recovering, in less obvious ways.

I find this story very watchable. I love it.

I'm a little naive at times and I try not to read about the actors themselves till I have seen EVERYTHING from the show.(Davison was an exception. That's because I've seen him in Campion. Netflix strikes again.) I didn't know about that. I admire him for that now.

Adric-hugtiem art is far overdue. Dammit, I did it for Bertie Wooster when the situation called for it, why can't I do this now...oh wait...class...(I really really do want to do this, though) I was just talking to my friend who lent me Black Orchid and mentions of Earthshock brought out a cry of "I LOVED HIM SO MUCH" from her.

I know what you mean, but I don't think I could hold off until after I'd seen ALL of them. Still, it can have its detriments. Notice how my last few Tom Baker commentaries have had some talk of the stories about his backstage behavior.

Hugtiem art. That sounds like fun. :D

I have a large amount of patience. I let a few things slip through though. (You can't help it with the extras and the commentary on the show.) I mean, even I have heard about Tom Baker's behavior.

Finally started it tonight :D (was going to make more progress, but my friends showed up for us to rewatch the season 5 finale. Will work more on that now.)
