So Turlough can talk to the Black Guardian without the crystal now? Or is it in his coat? It's been years since I watched this the trilogy so I don't remember all the details, but as far as I remember he has the crystal with him the whole time. So yeah, it's probably in a pocket.
"I feel...I feel as if I'm going to burst..." *takes off skirt* That sound you just retroactively heard was s'plosion of many fanboy heads. And it was oh-so-subtle, wouldn't you agree?
From this angle, it looks like the panel that Turlough's banging on repeatedly reads "OUCH." He should stop banging it, then, as he's clearly hurting it.
When the coat comes off, it's serious time. Seriously. That's a little redundant. Oh well.
I've seen all of Nyssa's serials. I really do like her, but you don't get a real good look into her character very often. At least, that's what it feels like to me.
Not my favorite serial. Mostly because Enlightenment is just so awesome.
I thought the skulls were pretty obvious as well. Silly Doctor Who, making everyone seem naive about these things.
I think any Doctor removing any article of clothing counts as srys bznss (except for Ten, because he takes that coat off all the time).
Peter Davison was saying the same in the Making Of feature. I think Nyssa is one of those characters who gets the bulk of her development in the Expanded Universe (after all, there's that whole slew of audios that take place between Time-Flight and Arc of Infinity where it's just Five and Nyssa traveling together).
Enlightenment should be arriving today, so I'll get to start the awesome tonight.
Yay! I'm so glad you like Terminus. For the longest time I was in the minority, but Terminus is one of my favourite Five serials (after Enlightenment, of course). I love the darkness and creepiness and all the implied discomfort. It's true that a lot of the plot got fucked with to have more naked!Nyssa, but it's still a really gripping story. It's also one of the few 80s serials where I really get attached to the peripheral characters. I thought Olvir was adorable and dashing, and Kara is super cool. Even the vaneer you start to feel for.
Also, this serial wins for the amount of unfortunate implications one can pack into a family show. Make your guards dependent on a drug, and then use the control of it to keep them from escaping? Yeah. Kids show.
I also giggle endlessly everytime Nyssa straddles Olvir.
My favorite thing about this serial was the atmosphere. I feel like they were really onto something and it sort-of made up for the story itself being a bit weak. I almost hoped that Nyssa and Olvir would hook up by the end, but then I decided against it. The Doctor already has plenty of companions who leave because of other men (also, I ship Nyssa with Adric so...yeah :P)
I don't know how I completely passed over the drug thing, because I'm usually good at pointing that stuff out @__@
Everybody's been hyping me up for Enlightenment this week. Should be coming today. Can't wait!
I liked Nyssa too and I'm HOPING to get to her origin serials next week. Tegan's actually growing on me (I didn't really love her or hate her before) because I admire her assertiveness with Turlough.
I thought that Donna was a cool ginger companion, but yes, Amy is quite awesome.

And it wasn't until Amy that we got a redhead companion that was actually cool.
