The Loose Cannon reconstruction is one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen. The pacing if the serial can be difficult to handle in reconstructed format, but it translated better than, say, The Celestial Toymaker.
Ah, the glorious comradeship of Two Creaky Old Men... One of the funniest moments in Classic Who, for me.
Some people see Mission to the Unknown as part of The Daleks' Master Plan, so you can already think of it as having watched all the serials with no surviving footage.
They are both very cool, yes. Unfortunately, it's a very visual story and so it loses a lot when confined to an audio or a collection of telesnaps.
It can definitely be seen as a 13-part serial with The Myth Makers stuck at the beginning - or you can see Mission to the Unknown as an episode-long teaser to The Daleks' Master Plan, since it sets the scene for what comes later.

Waving grown up watching Space: 1999, I'm always finding myself calling Ping-Cho "Sandra".
