My first week back at school!

I'm trying to get back into the habit of updating regularly, but it's proving to be difficult, haha.

Well, my first week of school was great.  The only really sucky thing is my World Literature professor.  I think he a)just likes to hear himself speak, b)doesn't think we're capable of complex thought, or c)English isn't his first language.  It's hard to explain.  Other than that, this week has been quite successful.

I didn't even get called back for King Lear-I was kind of upset.  But, you get over it.  Other things have made themselves available.  I sent in my headshot and resume to the movie filming in Austin-Every Word is True the other day, so I'm not sure what I'll do if I get called for that, if I have to get permission from Costello for it.  After all, it's film work, so I'm thinking I may be able to sneak my way around it without being unethical.

I got a job!  I'll be doing publicity for the Theatre Department!  I only have to work about ten hours a week, but they're paying me really well.  I'll get about three times more money over the semester than I got as a Teacher's Assistant.  Hot!

This weekend was crazy but fabulous!  I wrote in my first ever 24-hour Play Festival!  I had six hours Friday night to cast and write a ten-minute play, then I went home early Saturday morning and slept all day.  Last night, all eight plays were performed.  It was such a neat experience.  My cast and director were wonderful, I loved it!  Mine was the last play, and afterwards it seemed like everyone was telling me good job!  I won't lie, that felt pretty darn good.

So, my friend Josh (who got engaged over the break, whoohoo for him and Sam!) asked me to be in his Directing II play, The Complete History of America (written by the same guys who did complete works of Shakespeare, Abrdgd).  And I'm auditioning for a student At-Random production of Chamber Music (Awesome!  I love that play!) and I think I have a pretty good shot at it.

Anyhow, that's what my first week was like.  Hope those of you here at school has a good experience, too.  For all of my non-SWT friends, Howdy!
