So, what have I been up to recently. Well, today I phone banked for Obama. Which was tons of fun, getting to call around to my home state and remind people to go out to the polls, inspite of the snow. Two weekends ago I was down on Columbus at Prohibition with Chiara listening to some live music and drinking black cherry mojito's when we ran into some of Columbia's most favored sons, the members of Vampire Weekend. So we all hung out and got drunk over 20 different flavors of Mojitios in a 1920's themed throw down.
Thursday was Glass House Rocks, so Chiara and I went to that for a little while, then we went to Cannon's and hung out with the rowers. Friday night was a lingere themed night. So Marisa and I whipped out the corsets, which of course we had to accompany with Parkas because it's so freaking cold outside. It was lingerie night because the drinks were all sex themed, slow comfortably screw up against the wall, sex on the beach etc. And all proceeds went to planned parenthood, so we were whores for a good cause. Saturday night and Sunday night I did work, because this is Columbia, and the more fun you have the more predisposed you are to fail all of your courses. I think it's designed like that on purpose.
It snowed today, it was beautiful. It was barely an inch, but snow is so rare in NYC, or it seems like it is recently. So I stayed inside, skipped my last lecture of the day and drank hot chocolate while watching gone with the wind and watching the snow fall.
But onto more important things, OBAMA FOR PRESIDENT! Way to sweep all the primaries and caucuses since super Tuesday. Now if Texas goes our way, then hopefully we'll have the nomination.
To quote Barack "as we stand here on the crossroads of history....." well, he said something inspiring. Even though I don't really agree with his tax policies, I've found that I don't really agree with any democrats tax policies. Especially since it was explained to me that the wealthiest 10 percent that they keep referring to is people who make over 200k a year. And yes, I know that's a lot of money. But trust me, it's not that much and it goes pretty quickly as well, especially when more of it goes to taxes than anyone else. But I've been complaining about this to my friends at school here for weeks now, in fact I think since I got back. But I've decided that there is something more important to me than taxes, so I'm willing to put that behind me and just hope that no one repeals the bush tax cuts. Or they'll consider cutting spending before raising taxes on my family, or they'll raise them equally, because at least that will be fair.
Alright, if I don't stop now I'll verge into rant territory, so I'm stopping now.
