I saw this political advertisement for Bradley Byrne today attacking another attack ad, claiming he was beholden to the Democratic Party.
First off, no one in the Democratic Party would ever want to claim a Southern Republican. Especially one like Bradley Byrne.
Anyway, he accused Hillary Clinton of sponsoring the original ad. This pisses me off. Hillary Clinton has honorably served her country. She fought for the rights of women. She expanded the position of First Lady more than any woman in history. She's been pivotal in the growth of Haiti as a nation for more than three decades. She honorably served her country in the US Senate from New York. She tirelessly fought for equity in health care. And now she's Secretary of State-- the most powerful Cabinet position of them all.
She did all of this while people looked down on her for having a mind of her own and a vagina. Then her own party decided to crap all over her for running against a black guy.
That pisses me off, and Bradley Byrne should be ashamed of himself.
The original attack ad went on to call Byrne a trial lawyer. Byrne rebutted this.
What in the hell is wrong with being a trial lawyer? You're defending the Constitution by providing a fair, fast, speedy, jury trial to people who can't afford it.
Republicans look down on those kinds of people and call every lawsuit brought up by these-- in their opinion-- "dregs" as frivolous. It's almost as if their philosophy is, "Sure, you can have a fair trial... that is, if you make more than $150 thousand a year." It's insulting.
Then again, I've never understood why common people continue to ally themselves with the Republican Party. That party has never had anyone's interests except the elite at heart. So what, you don't agree with abortion? A lot of Democrats don't, too. And a lot of us believe in God. The core of the RP isn't even made up of the type of people the Republicans want in their party.
That isn't to say the Dems have it all together. Hell, I wanted Hillary for president. Nancy Pelosi totally misrepresents us as a group. We need more people in Congress like Bud Cramer was. And now is district his represented by that turncoat Parker Griffith.
The best thing we can do is a state is vote for Artur Davis. I wanted to support Ron Sparks, but his campaign totally disappeared when the bingo issue reared its ugly head.
This country is going to hell in a handbasket and it's the Republicans' fault.
